Kilkenny Animated

Naoise co-founded and co-directs with Paul Young, CEO of Cartoon Saloon, this new festival of visual storytelling which celebrates the work of animators, illustrators and cartoonists from around the world through workshops, exhibitions, screenings, walking tours and masterclasses.

 

In the midst of COVID-19 public health restrictions in October 2020, we collaborated with Algorithm to create spectacular scenes from Cartoon Saloon’s Oscar-nominated animated feature WolfWalkers which were projected on the walls of Kilkenny Castle at night for four weeks so they could be enjoyed by everyone in the city. The festival also celebrated the premiere of WolfWalkers by screening the film to more than 1,000 Kilkenny residents who were given free tickets. Partnerships have included Netflix, Apple TV+, Lighthouse Studios, Fáilte Ireland and Kilkenny County Council.
